Method 5: Manual Drain Snake or Wire Hanger
For hair or debris within reach.
-
Straighten a wire coat hanger, leaving a small hook at the end.
-
Insert into the drain and gently fish around.
-
Pull out hair and gunk. Dispose of it.
-
Flush with hot water.
Upgrade option: Use a zip-it tool or small plastic drain snake ($2–$5 at hardware stores).
Method 6: Wet/Dry Vacuum (If You Have One)
Surprisingly effective for deeper blockages.
-
Switch to wet mode and remove the filter.
-
Create a tight seal over the drain with the vacuum hose or an attachment.
-
Turn on and let it suck out the clog.
-
Check drainage.
